JUNIOR SOFTWARE DEVELOPER

 

 

JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking an experienced Software Developer to join Jack's Family Restaurants Software Development Team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing custom applications, share responsibilities for existing low-code applications, collaborate with development team members, and integrating systems to help innovate the company. The ideal candidate will have a positive attitude, the appropriate programming experience, excellent organization, high attention to detail, and communication skills. This is a great opportunity to build experience and skills!

Candidates must be local to the Birmingham area or willing to relocate.

 

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • The ability to create front-end web applications. Back-end development experience beneficial.
  • Design and develop applications using the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) to meet application scope requirements.
  • Manage and monitor software releases to ensure smooth and timely execution.
  • Follow programming standards, governance, and change management to ensure coding consistency and compliance.
  • Maintain documentation of code, application processes, and architecture for reference and knowledge sharing.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies.

 

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience as a software developer with a focus on web applications.
  • Experience with C#, Javascript/Node.JS, Java, or similar language required.
  • Some database knowledge required – (SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, …).
  • Knowledge of Quickbase, or similar low-code solutions, is a plus.
  • Knowledge of AWS is a plus.
  • Good organizational skills and ability to handle projects while meeting deadlines and business needs.
  • Detail-oriented with analytical, and communication skills that adhere to standards and best practices.
  • The right person will have a positive attitude and be willing to learn.
