- Supervise and co-ordinate activities of payroll staff
- Manage payroll workload to meet operational requirements
- Ensures accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates. (8,000 employees)
- Oversee compliance with statutory reporting and filing requirements
- Prepare, review and maintain accurate payroll general ledger account reconciliations
- Review and improve payroll policies and procedures
- Ensure all payroll information and records are maintained in accordance with statutory requirements
- Support all internal and external audits related to payroll
- Oversee process of weekly payroll for executives and office staff
- Manage and resolve issues relating to payroll production
- Manage and develop payroll staff
- Familiar with Microsoft Great Plains, Greenshades, Word, and Excel
- Able to work in a team environment
- Able to complete tasks in a timely and efficient manner
- Able to communicate clearly and succinctly to other members of the finance/accounting department, as well as members of the wider Jack’s management team
